        For the second grade level, there are lots of different ways that technology is incorporated into the classroom. According to the ELA standards there are lots of technology standards that I am familiar with and a few that I would need to learn about. I would be the most prepared to use SmartBoard applications, create posters or comic strips using Word, and also finding kid-friendly websites for learning. The standards that would require more learning for me would be websites like, StoryJumper, Pixlr, or Promethean.
        On the CPALMS website, the tool I find the most useful is the lessons plans. They have several lesson plans for every subject and grade. A useful lesson plan that I found is called "Big Brown Bug." In this activity, students go around the classroom measuring different items. I would use this activity to teach the lesson of measurements and how to measure different items.
        I really enjoyed working on the Newsletter project. I learned how to use features on Word like, boarders, shading, and columns that I was not familiar with before. I liked how my project came out and how it was supposed to be "aesthetically pleasing." Next time, I would maybe add some more designs or pictures to really make the letter stand out. This project will help me in my future career because as a teacher I will need to make newsletters and also create other things using Microsoft Word.
