    The school website that I found was for WaterLoo High school. I looked at the teacher page for Ms. Alderson, a fifth grade teacher. When you click on her name lots of information comes up about her and her class. There are links to the curriculum that the school follows, topics in her class, and resources and her favorite links. This is very helpful for parents to see what is going on in their child's class.
  Technology is very important to my success in school, so I intend to incorporate more technology into my education and also try to become more technologically advanced. I can start using educational apps and sources online to help better my knowledge of certain subjects. Some sources that I need to become more comfortable with is Word, Google Docs, and Canvas. These three sources are very important to my educational success here at Florida State. Using more technology and becoming more comfortable with certain sources will better my education and also be helpful in my future career as a teacher.
       There were lots of helpful and effective tools from the Technology SandBox that could be used in the classroom. The best, and most popular technology, was the SmartBoard. SmartBoards have been used ever since I was in elementary school and are very effective for student engagement and providing information. SmartBoards are at the front of the classroom for everyone to see so teachers can display videos or information for the students. SmartBoards can also be used for educational apps or games that the students can engage and participate in.

     For my Independent Learning Project, I decided to edit pictures on photoshop to show how this app can be effective and useful in an educational setting. I took a picture of a sunflower and edited it to show how you can alter pictures, and I also took a picture of someone texting and driving to show how powerful a photo can be, especially when it's edited.        The "flipped classroom" approach is when students are expected to learn material before class and be ready for discussion in class. An example of this is having a reading for homework and then talking about that reading and relating it to the learning objective in class the next day. I think that this is very effective and gives students a glimpse of what they are expected to know so that they are more prepared for class. This approach is used in almost all of my classes and I feel that I have benefited from it.        Open educational resources (OER) are resources that are free and open to the public to use for educational purposes.       I really enjoy using Twitter for educational purposes. I have learned a lot about educational technology because I accounts that post about new technologies in the classroom. I also learn a lot from what my classmates tweet, because I see their ideas and opinions on information that they see or post about. The benefits of using Twitter is gaining more knowledge on the topic of educational technology outside of the classroom.      I learned a lot from the Web design project and I really enjoyed doing it. I learned how to navigate through Weebly and also how to make a website in the future. The only thing about Weebly that I did not like what that it was kind of difficult to use. Next time, I will add more designs and creative pictures to my website to make it stand out more.
