For the second grade level, there are lots of different ways that technology is incorporated into the classroom. According to the ELA standards there are lots of technology standards that I am familiar with and a few that I would need to learn about. I would be the most prepared to use SmartBoard applications, create posters or comic strips using Word, and also finding kid-friendly websites for learning. The standards that would require more learning for me would be websites like, StoryJumper, Pixlr, or Promethean.         On the CPALMS website, the tool I find the most useful is the lessons plans. They have several lesson plans for every subject and grade. A useful lesson plan that I found is called "Big Brown Bug." In this activity, students go around the classroom measuring different items. I would use this activity to teach the lesson of measurements and how to measure different items.         I really enjoyed wor...

As a student, I mainly use Microsoft Word to write essays or take notes on my computer. Teachers do much more with Microsoft Word, as I've noticed. They use Microsoft word for Newsletters, to make their Syllabus, to write directions for something, etc. Teachers use much more functions on MS than students do like the table function, boarders, or pictures. Teachers spend time on what they are creating to make it aesthetically pleasing while students just type and essay and leave it at that.           I have heard time and time again from multiple teachers about the consequences of plagiarism and copyright. I have never participated in plagiarism or copyright but I have seen students who have and they get in a lot of trouble. If a student in my class plagiarized a paper or assignment I would give them a zero for the assignment. Lots of schools go as far to expel to fail a student completely but I think that is too harsh of a puni...

Expanding education and learning new things influences teachers and students to use technology in the classroom. Technology in the classroom can range from an app on the computer to a left-haded desk to a Smartboard, and all these technologies can be very useful for education.           The ISTE standard that makes the most sense to me is "Citizen." Teachers are constantly inspiring students to participate in the digital world and having positive behavior online. Lots of teachers use an online application or site for their class and encourage their students to become digitally literate with that application. For example, in this class our teacher had us set up a twitter and we are expected to post a certain amount of tweets during the semester. Teachers also emphasize how to behave online. For example, schools and teachers always have talks about cyberbullying and how harmful it can be. An ISTE standard that seems out of my skill set is "Analyst." As a teacher...
